ENG_Wavelengths below 400 nanometres fall outside the range of human vision. However, many other species can perceive ultraviolet light and use it to navigate their surroundings and carry out essential life functions.
At night, -400Nm becomes an observatory for nocturnal insects. Installed at the Rizoma Festival, the project invites participants to discover the living organisms inhabiting the festival’s woodland environment, encouraging awareness and respect for the natural surroundings. By revealing forms of perception beyond our own, -400Nm offers an opportunity to experience the space from a non-human perspective.
